Diksha is from India and now she goes to Cobb Middle School. She wondered how people would be here. At first they were very nice but then the students at Cobb weren't so nice to her. She thinks perhaps because of her accent and that she is different. Her mom told her about SciGirls and she has really liked it. It has been the best part of her life so far.
Corinna is a rising 8th grader who attends the School of Arts & Sciences. She loves the school and its nurturing environment. She attended SciGirls this past summer and loved meeting women scientists. She tells other teens to try new things and get off your screen.
Byron is 13 years old and spending the summer in Tallahassee from Mobile AL. He spends his days at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center. He likes the field trips the Teen Center takes them on including WFSU and the FSU Football stadium. He is thinking about a future either in football or the marines.
Karly attends Montford Middle School and is going into the 8th grade. This summer she attended SciGirls and it exceeded her expectations. The camp helped her because it was great to be with other people who love science too. She loves drawing and writing about nature and sees a future doing something like that. Her favorite activity during SciGirls was going to Seacrest Wolf Preserve. School adds a lot of stress and since she goes to such a large school, teachers don't always know who you are.
